(But really Jesus himself did not baptize people. His followers baptized people for him.) Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard about him.


The Samaritans went to Jesus. They begged Jesus to stay with them. So Jesus stayed there two days.


She and all the people living in her home were baptized. {\cf2\super [337]} Then Lydia invited us into her home. She said, “If you think I am truly a believer in the Lord Jesus, then come stay in my house.” She persuaded us to stay with her.


When these followers heard this, they were baptized {\cf2\super [380]} in the name of the Lord Jesus.


Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, {\cf2\super [42]} each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Then God will forgive your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [43]}


But Philip told the people the Good News {\cf2\super [159]} about the kingdom of God and the power of Jesus Christ. Men and women believed Philip. They were baptized. {\cf2\super [160]}


These people had been baptized {\cf2\super [164]} in the name of the Lord Jesus. But the Holy Spirit had not yet come down on any of them. This is why Peter and John prayed.
