Men were chosen from each family. They were chosen by throwing lots. {\cf2\super [261]} Some of the men were chosen to be in charge of the Holy Place. {\cf2\super [262]} And other men were chosen to serve as priests. All of these men were from the families of Eleazar and Ithamar.
“We—the priests, the Levites, and the people—have thrown lots. {\cf2\super [65]} Why? To decide when each of our families is to bring a gift of wood to the temple of our God at certain times each year. The wood is to burn on the altar of the Lord our God. Now the leaders of the people of Israel moved into the city of Jerusalem. The other people of Israel had to decide who else would move into the city. Wisdom brings true life to people who have it. But fools only learn to be more foolish.
The person who respects the Lord is learning to be wise. A person must be humble before he can truly respect the Lord.
