The king also had many cargo ships [139] that he sent out to trade things with other countries. These were Hiram’s ships. Every three years the ships would come back with a new load of gold, silver, ivory, and animals.


King Jehoshaphat built some cargo ships. He wanted the ships to sail to Ophir to get gold from that place. But the ships never went there—they were destroyed in their home port at Ezion Geber.


King Ahaziah of Israel offered to help Jehoshaphat. Ahaziah offered to put some of his own sailors with Jehoshaphat’s men on those ships. [235] But Jehoshaphat refused to accept Ahaziah’s men.


So King Amaziah died and was buried with his ancestors. [166] Then Azariah built Elath again and got it back for Judah.


She is like a ship from a faraway place.\par She brings food home from everywhere.\par


The people left Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber.
