He has punished you, Jerusalem, holy city, because of the deeds of your hands.

But I and my soul will rejoice in him.

“Jerusalem, Holy City of our God, he will punish you for the sins of your people, but he will be merciful to all who do right.

O Jerusalem, the holy city, he will scourge you for the works of your sons, and will again have mercy on the sons of the righteous.

God will punish your holy city because you have sinned, but if you obey him, he will again be kind to you.
