And they came to the threshing-floor of Atad, which is situated beyond the Jordan: where celebrating the exequies with a great and vehement lamentation, they spent full seven days.


And he said: If the Lord doth not save thee, how can I save thee? Out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? And the king said to her: What aileth thee? And she answered:


Of the things you eat. As you separate first-fruits of your barnfloors,


Command the Levites, and declare unto them: When you shall receive of the children of Israel the tithes, which I have given you, offer the first-fruits of them to the Lord, that is to say, the tenth part of the tenth.


And of all the things of which you receive tithes, offer the first-fruits to the Lord, and give them to Aaron the priest.


And thou shalt say to them: If you offer all the goodly and the better things of the tithes, it shall be reckoned to you as if you had given the first-fruits of the barnfloor and the winepress.


But shalt give him for his way: out of thy flocks, and out of thy barnfloor, and thy winepress, wherewith the Lord thy God shall bless thee.
