As for me, however, I am filled with power by the Spirit of the  Lord, with justice and courage, to proclaim to Jacob his rebellion and to Israel his sin.


“Since the Lord wasn’t able to bring this people into the land he swore to give them,  he has slaughtered them in the wilderness.”


The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in faithful love,  forgiving iniquity and rebellion.  But he will not leave the guilty unpunished,  bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generation.


But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins’  #– #then he told the paralytic, ‘Get up, take your stretcher, and go home.’


When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck  , and gave glory  to God, who had given such authority to men.
