‘Therefore be alert, because you don’t know either the day or the hour.


And you must watch! I have told you everything in advance.


You also be ready,   because the Son of Man   is coming at an hour you do not expect.’


But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,  and make no provision for the flesh to gratify its desires.


Be alert, stand firm in the faith,  be courageous,  be strong.


Pray  at all times in the Spirit  with every prayer and request, and stay alert  with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.


Devote yourselves  to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving.


Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.


The end of all things is near;  therefore, be alert and sober-minded  for prayer.


Be sober-minded,  be alert.  Your adversary the devil  is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.


‘Look, I am coming like a thief. Blessed   is the one who is alert and remains clothed   , so that he may not go around naked and people see his shame.’


Be alert   and strengthen   what remains, which is about to die,   for I have not found your works complete before my God.
