so you will summon a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you will run to you. For the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel, has glorified you.’


He went to his home town  and began to teach them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, ‘Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?


Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee,  teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every  disease and sickness  among the people.

When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck  , and gave glory  to God, who had given such authority to men.


They were all amazed,  and so they began to ask  each other, “What is this? A new teaching  with authority!  , He commands even the unclean  spirits,  and they obey him.’


He went into all of Galilee,  preaching in their synagogues  and driving out demons.


Yet he went out and began to proclaim  it widely and to spread the news,  with the result that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly. But he was out in deserted places, and they came to him from everywhere.


As he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath,


He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up.  As usual, he entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day  and stood up to read.
