So the crowd was amazed when they saw those unable to speak talking, the crippled restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing,  and they gave glory to the God of Israel.


For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under my command.  I say to this one, “Go,” and he goes; and to another, “Come,” and he comes; and to my servant, “Do this! ” and he does it.’


When the demon had been driven out, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed, saying, ‘Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel! ’


And the unclean spirit threw him into convulsions,  shouted with a loud voice, and came out of him.


At once the news about him spread throughout the entire vicinity of Galilee.


The disciples were astonished at his words. Again Jesus said to them, ‘Children,   how hard it is   to enter the kingdom of God!


They  were on the road, going up to Jerusalem,  and Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were astonished, but those who followed him were afraid.  Taking the Twelve aside again, he began to tell them the things that would happen to him.


When  they entered the tomb,  they saw a young man  dressed  in a white  robe sitting on the right side; they were alarmed.


‘Don’t be alarmed,’ he told them. ‘You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth,  who was crucified. He has risen!  He is not here. See the place where they put him.


They were extremely astonished and said, ‘He has done everything well.  He even makes the deaf  hear and the mute speak.’


Amazement came over them all, and they were saying to one another, ‘What is this message? For he commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out! ’


Summoning the Twelve,  he gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases.


They took him and brought him to the Areopagus,  and said, ‘May we learn about this new teaching you are presenting?
