My son, fear the  Lord, as well as the king, and don’t associate with rebels,


‘But, so we won’t offend them, go to the sea, cast in a fish hook, and take the first fish that you catch. When you open its mouth you’ll find a coin.   Take it and give it to them for me and you.’


‘Caesar’s,’ they said to him. Then he said to them, ‘Give, then, to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.’


Jesus told them, ‘Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.’   And they were utterly amazed  at him.


‘Show me a denarius.   Whose image and inscription does it have? ’ ‘Caesar’s,’ they said.


Peter and the apostles replied, ‘We must obey God rather than people.


So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.


If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides,  so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
