But Jehoshaphat said, ‘Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s enquire of the Lord through him.’ One of the servants of the king of Israel answered, ‘Elisha son of Shaphat,  who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.’


Blessed will be those servants the master finds alert   when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will get ready,   have them recline at the table, then come and serve them.


‘Which one of you having a servant tending sheep or ploughing will say to him when he comes in from the field, “Come at once and sit down to eat”?


Instead, will he not tell him, “Prepare something for me to eat, get ready, and serve me while I eat and drink; later you can eat and drink”?


For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.


When Jesus had washed their feet and put on his outer clothing, he reclined again and said to them, ‘Do you know what I have done for you?


For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich,  for your sake he became poor,  so that by his poverty you might become rich.


For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another,
