Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfil what was spoken through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.
Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law (and so did the prophets ): Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth.’
So they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, ‘Sir, we want to see Jesus.’
‘Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah? ’
So when Jesus looked up and noticed a huge crowd coming towards him, he asked Philip, ‘Where will we buy bread so that these people can eat? ’
Philip answered him, ‘Two hundred denarii , worth of bread wouldn’t be enough for each of them to have a little.’
‘You aren’t from Galilee too, are you? ’ they replied. ‘Investigate and you will see that no prophet arises from Galilee.’ ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ [The earliest manuscripts do not include 7:53–8:11.] [
