The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, ‘There is still one man who can enquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies good about me, but only disaster. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.’ ‘The king shouldn’t say that! ’ Jehoshaphat replied.
The one who has contempt for instruction will pay the penalty, but the one who respects a command will be rewarded.
Many plans are in a person’s heart, but the Lord’s decree will prevail.
No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel will prevail against the Lord.
One who becomes stiff-necked, after many reprimands will be shattered instantly – beyond recovery.
and you will say, ‘How I hated discipline, and how my heart despised correction.
‘Take a scroll, and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations from the time I first spoke to you during Josiah’s reign until today.
After the king had burned the scroll and the words Baruch had written at Jeremiah’s dictation, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:
‘Take another scroll, and once again write on it the original words that were on the original scroll that King Jehoiakim of Judah burned.
And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share of the tree of life and the holy city, which are written about in this book.
