Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot (Haran’s son), and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they set out together from Ur of the Chaldeans  to go to the land of Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there.


The servant took ten of his master’s camels, and with all kinds of his master’s goods in hand, he went to Aram-naharaim, to Nahor’s town.


So now, my son, listen to me. Flee at once to my brother Laban in Haran,


Jacob left Beer-sheba and went towards Haran.


The shepherds would roll the stone from the opening of the well and water the sheep when all the flocks  were gathered there. Then they would return the stone to its place over the well’s opening.


‘Brothers and fathers,’ he replied, ‘listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he settled in Haran,


‘Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. From there, after his father died, God had him move to this land in which you are now living.
