Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female slaves so that they could bear children,
for the Lord had completely closed all the wombs in Abimelech’s household on account of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.
But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, ‘You are about to die because of the woman you have taken, for she is a married woman.’
Then David said to Ornan, ‘Give me this threshing-floor plot so that I may build an altar to the Lord on it. Give it to me for the full price, so the plague on the people may be stopped.’
God is not partial to princes and does not favour the rich over the poor, for they are all the work of his hands.
Marriage is to be honoured by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
