When they reached the threshing-floor of Atad, which is across the Jordan, they lamented and wept loudly, and Joseph mourned seven days for his father.


Araunah said, ‘Why has my lord the king come to his servant? ’ David replied, ‘To buy the threshing-floor from you in order to build an altar to the Lord, so the plague on the people may be halted.’


So Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, ‘Give me your vineyard  so I can have it for a vegetable garden, since it is right next to my palace. I will give you a better vineyard in its place, or if you prefer, I will give you its value in silver.’


David came to Ornan, and when Ornan looked and saw David, he left the threshing-floor and bowed to David with his face to the ground.


Ornan said to David, ‘Take it! My lord the king may do whatever he wants.  See, I give the oxen for the burnt offerings, the threshing sledges for the wood, and the wheat for the grain offering #– #I give it all.’


He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was halted.


followed the Israelite man into the tent,  and drove it through both the Israelite man and the woman #– #through her belly. Then the plague on the Israelites was stopped,
