Then they came back to invade En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh  ), and they defeated the whole territory of the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.


Timna, a concubine of Esau’s son Eliphaz, bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Esau’s wife Adah.


chief Korah,  chief Gatam, and chief Amalek. These are the chiefs descended from Eliphaz in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Adah.


The entire Israelite community left the Wilderness of Sin, moving from one place to the next according to the Lord’s command. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.


The Amalekites  are living in the land of the Negev; the Hethites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the sea and along the Jordan.’


Then Balaam saw Amalek and proclaimed his poem: Amalek was first among the nations, but his future is destruction.


Whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites, Amalekites, and the people of the east  came and attacked them.


He fought bravely, defeated the Amalekites,  and rescued Israel from those who plundered them.


This is what the Lord of Armies says: “I witnessed  what the Amalekites did to the Israelites when they opposed them along the way as they were coming out of Egypt.


David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites,  the Girzites,  and the Amalekites.  From ancient times they had been the inhabitants of the region as you go towards Shur  , as far as the land of Egypt.


David and his men  arrived in Ziklag  on the third day. The Amalekites  had raided the Negev and attacked and burned Ziklag.
