But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of his concubines, and while he was still alive he sent them eastwards, away from his son Isaac, to the land of the East.


Jacob resumed his journey  and went to the eastern country.  ,


The Israelites mobilised, gathered supplies, and went to fight them. The Israelites camped in front of them like two little flocks of goats, while the Arameans filled the landscape.


Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East,  greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.


So Hiram provided Solomon with all the cedar and cypress timber he wanted,


His estate included seven thousand sheep and goats, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys,  and a very large number of servants. Job was the greatest man among all the people of the east.

At Rephidim, Amalek  , came and fought against Israel.

About Kedar  and the kingdoms of Hazor, which King Nebuchadnezzar  of Babylon defeated, this is what the Lord says: Rise up, attack Kedar, and destroy the people of the east!

They will eat the offspring of your livestock and your land’s produce until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain, new wine, fresh oil, young of your herds, or newborn of your flocks until they cause you to perish.


Sidonians, Amalekites, and Maonites  , oppressed you, and you cried out to me, did I not deliver you from them?


After Eglon convinced the Ammonites and the Amalekites to join forces with him, he attacked and defeated Israel and took possession of the City of Palms.  ,


and they oppressed Israel.  Because of Midian, the Israelites made hiding places  for themselves in the mountains, caves, and strongholds.


All the Midianites, Amalekites, and people of the east gathered together, crossed over the Jordan, and camped in the Jezreel Valley.


They set up camp against them and destroyed the produce of the land, even as far as Gaza. They left nothing for Israel to eat, as well as no sheep, ox, or donkey.


Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and all the people of the east had settled down in the valley like a swarm of locusts, and their camels were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.


Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and with them was their army of about fifteen thousand men, who were all those left of the entire army of the people of the east. Those who had been killed were one hundred and twenty thousand armed men.
