If the household is too small for a whole animal, that person and the neighbour nearest his house are to select one based on the combined number of people; you should apportion the animal according to what each will eat.


‘But if his offering for a burnt offering is from the flock, from sheep or goats,  he is to present an unblemished male.


‘If his offering is a burnt offering  from the herd, he is to bring an unblemished male.  He will bring it to the entrance to the tent of meeting so that he  may be accepted by the Lord.


On the day you present the sheaf, you are to offer a year-old male lamb  without blemish  as a burnt offering to the Lord.


‘The deceiver is cursed who has an acceptable male in his flock and makes a vow but sacrifices a defective animal to the Lord.  For I am a great King,’ says the Lord of Armies, ‘and my name will be feared among the nations.
