‘But if the slave declares, “I love my master, my wife, and my children; I do not want to leave as a free man,”


his master is to bring him to the judges  and then bring him to the door or doorpost. His master will pierce his ear with an awl, and he will serve his master for life.


But if your slave says to you, “I don’t want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family, and is well off with you,


Do not regard it as a hardship  when you set him free, because he worked for you six years #– #worth twice the wages of a hired worker. Then the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.


Hannah did not go and explained to her husband, ‘After the child is weaned, I’ll take him to appear in the Lord’s presence  and to stay there permanently.’
