On the twenty-third day of the third month  #– #that is, the month Sivan #– #the royal scribes were summoned. Everything was written exactly as Mordecai  commanded for the Jews, to the satraps,  the governors, and the officials of the 127 provinces from India to Cush.  The edict was written for each province in its own script, for each ethnic group in its own language,  and to the Jews in their own script and language.


Zion, herald of good news, go up on a high mountain. Jerusalem, herald of good news, raise your voice loudly. Raise it, do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, ‘Here is your God! ’


‘Cry out loudly, don’t hold back! Raise your voice like a ram’s horn. Tell my people their transgression and the house of Jacob their sins.


You as king have issued a decree  that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, drum, and every kind of music must fall down and worship the gold statue.


So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the rulers of the provinces assembled for the dedication of the statue the king had set up. Then they stood before the statue Nebuchadnezzar had set up.


Therefore, when all the people heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, and every kind of music, people of every nation and language fell down and worshipped the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.


King Nebuchadnezzar, To those of every people, nation, and language, who live on the whole earth: May your prosperity increase.


He called out loudly: Cut down the tree and chop off its branches; strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee from under it, and the birds from its branches.


Then King Darius wrote to those of every people, nation, and language who live on the whole earth: ‘May your prosperity abound.


Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgement, for he is determined to follow what is worthless.


The statutes of Omri and all the practices of Ahab’s house have been observed; you have followed their policies. Therefore, I will make you a desolate place and the city’s  residents an object of contempt;  , you will bear the scorn of my people.’  ,


And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and you purchased   people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation.
