He reveals mysteries from the darkness and brings the deepest darkness into the light.


He causes this to happen for punishment, for his land, or for his faithful love.


Can you command  the clouds so that a flood of water covers you?


He makes the stars: the Bear,  Orion, the Pleiades,  and the constellations  of the southern sky.


I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on paths they have not known. I will turn darkness to light in front of them and rough places into level ground. This is what I will do for them, and I will not abandon them.


We grope along a wall like the blind; we grope like those without eyes. We stumble at noon as though it were twilight; we are like the dead among those who are healthy.


‘Therefore, I am about to inform them, and this time I will make them know my power and my might; then they will know that my name is the  Lord.’


‘The Lord who made the earth,  the Lord who forms it to establish it,  the Lord is his name,  says this:


He is here: the one who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, the one who makes the dawn out of darkness and strides on the heights of the earth. The Lord, the God of Armies, is his name.


And in that day – this is the declaration of the Lord  God  – I will make the sun go down at noon; I will darken the land in the daytime.


He builds his upper chambers in the heavens and lays the foundation of his vault on the earth. He summons the water of the sea and pours it out over the surface of the earth. The Lord is his name.


The people who live in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.   ,,


to shine on those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
