Yet the king’s order prevailed over Joab and the commanders of the army. So Joab and the commanders of the army left the king’s presence to register the troops of Israel.


The cities of Aroer are abandoned; they will be places for flocks. They will lie down without fear.


After Moses sent spies to Jazer, Israel captured its surrounding villages and drove out the Amorites who were there.


The Reubenites and Gadites had a very large number of livestock. When they surveyed the lands of Jazer  and Gilead, they saw that the region was a good one for livestock.

There was no city that was inaccessible to  , us, from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the valley, even as far as Gilead.  The Lord our God gave everything to us.
