David went to the priest Ahimelech  at Nob.  Ahimelech was afraid to meet David, so he said to him, ‘Why are you alone and no one is with you? ’


Ahimelech enquired of the Lord for him  and gave him provisions.  He also gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.’


Then Saul said, ‘Listen, son of Ahitub! ’ ‘I’m at your service,  my lord,’ he said.
