He’s probably already hiding in one of the caves  or some other place. If some of our troops fall  first, someone is sure to hear and say, “There’s been a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom.”


He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand, took it, and killed a thousand men with it.


He quickly called his armour-bearer and said to him, ‘Draw your sword and kill me, or they’ll say about me, “A woman killed him.” ’ So his armour-bearer ran him through, and he died.


Jonathan climbed up using his hands and feet, with his armour-bearer behind him. Jonathan cut them down, and his armour-bearer followed and finished them off.


Terror spread through the Philistine camp and the open fields to all the troops. Even the garrison and the raiding parties  were terrified. The earth shook,  and terror spread from God.  ,
