Then he said to Jacob, ‘Let me go, for it is daybreak.’ But Jacob said, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’
So Ahab went to eat and drink, but Elijah went up to the summit of Carmel. He bent down on the ground and put his face between his knees.
On the seventh time, he reported, ‘There’s a cloud as small as a man’s hand coming up from the sea.’ Then Elijah said, ‘Go and tell Ahab, “Get your chariot ready and go down so the rain doesn’t stop you.” ’
Elisha got up, went into the house, and paced back and forth. Then he went up and bent down over him again. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late.
Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not give up.
Will not God grant justice to his elect who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay helping them?
Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.
Have seven priests to carry seven trumpets made of ram’s horns in front of the ark. But on the seventh day, march round the city seven times, while the priests blow the rams’ horns.
