Absalom didn’t say anything to Amnon, either good or bad, because he hated Amnon since he disgraced his sister Tamar.


‘Do not harbour hatred against your brother.  , Rebuke your neighbour directly, and you will not incur guilt because of him.


‘If you were blind,’ Jesus told them, ‘you wouldn’t have sin.   But now that you say, “We see,” your sin remains.


In those days Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters   #– #the number of people who were together was about a hundred twenty #– #and said,


The person who lacks these things is blind and short-sighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins.


If we say, ‘We have fellowship  with him,’ and yet we walk in darkness,  we are lying and are not practising the truth.


But the one who hates his brother or sister  is in the darkness, walks in the darkness,  and doesn’t know where he’s going,  because the darkness has blinded his eyes.


The one who says, ‘I have come to know him,’ and yet doesn’t keep his commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.


This is how God’s children and the devil’s children become obvious. Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother or sister.


If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and yet hates his brother or sister,  he is a liar.  For the person who does not love his brother or sister  whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
