Psalm 8

¹ Lord our Master,\par your name is the most wonderful name\par in all the earth!\par Your name brings you praise\par everywhere in heaven.\par

² From the mouths of children and babies\par come songs of praise to you.\par You gave them \{these powerful songs\}\par to silence all your enemies.\par

³ Lord, I look at the heavens\par you made with your hands.\par I see the moon and stars you created,\par \{and I wonder:\}\par

⁴ Why are people so important to you?\par Why do you even remember them?\par Why are people {\cf2\super [42]} so important to you?\par Why do you even notice them?\par

⁵ \{But people are important to you!\}\par You made people {\cf2\super [43]} almost like gods.\par And you crowned them\par with glory and honor.\par

⁶ You put people in charge of\par everything you made.\par You put everything under their {\cf2\super [44]} control.\par

⁷ People rule over the sheep and cattle\par and all the wild animals.\par

⁸ They rule over the birds in the sky\par and over the fish that swim\par the ocean currents.\par
