Why do you hide your face and count me as your enemy?


You put my feet in the stocks and watch all my paths; you set a bound to the soles of my feet.


You who tear yourself in your anger— shall the earth be forsaken because of you or the rock be removed out of its place?


He has kindled his wrath against me and counts me as his adversary.


You have turned cruel to me; with the might of your hand you persecute me.


Look, he finds occasions against me; he counts me as his enemy;


For the arrows of the Almighty are in me; my spirit drinks their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.


they impiously mocked more and more, gnashing at me with their teeth.


The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them,


“Mark this, then, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver.


All your enemies open their mouths against you; they hiss, they gnash their teeth, they cry: “We have devoured her! Ah, this is the day we longed for; at last we have seen it!”


He is a bear lying in wait for me, a lion in hiding;


For I will be like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear and go away; I will carry off, and no one shall rescue.


“Come, let us return to the Lord, for it is he who has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck down, and he will bind us up.


Do not rejoice over me, my enemies; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.
