Woe, the thunder of many peoples, they thunder like the thundering of the sea! The roar of nations, they roar like the roaring of mighty waters!


Assemble, all of you, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The one the Lord loves shall perform his purpose against Babylon, and his arm shall be against the Chaldeans.


He will raise a signal for a nation far away and whistle for a people at the ends of the earth. Here they come, swiftly, speedily!


They will roar over it on that day, like the roaring of the sea. And if one look to the land— only darkness and distress; and the light grows dark with its clouds.


Thus you shall say to Zedekiah: Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: I am going to turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands and with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls, and I will bring them together into the center of this city.


For many nations and great kings shall make slaves of them also, and I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.


I will repay you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army that I sent against you.


Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.


therefore her plagues will come in a single day— pestilence and mourning and famine— and she will be burned with fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”
