The Lord saw that the wickedness of humans was great in the earth and that every inclination of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually.


And when the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of humans, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth; nor will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.


I will come against the wayward people to punish them, and nations shall be gathered against them when they are punished for their double iniquity.


The high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed. Thorn and thistle shall grow up on their altars. They shall say to the mountains, “Cover us,” and to the hills, “Fall on us.”


Blow the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah. Sound the alarm at Beth-aven; look behind you, Benjamin!


They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah; he will remember their iniquity; he will punish their sins.


The lords of Gibeah rose up against me and surrounded the house at night. They intended to kill me, and they raped my concubine until she died.
