But Balaam answered Balak, “Did I not speak to you, saying, ‘Whatever the Lord says, that is what I must do’?”


And Balaam said to Balak, “Did I not speak to your messengers whom you sent to me, saying,


‘If Balak should give me his house full of silver and gold, I would not be able to go beyond the word of the Lord, to do either good or bad of my own will; what the Lord says, that is what I will say’?


But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain God’s gift with money!


They profess to know God, but they deny him by their actions; they are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.


but I would not listen to Balaam; therefore he blessed you, so I rescued you out of his hand.
