and laid it in his new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock. He then rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb and went away.
Pilate said to them, “You have a guard of soldiers; go, make it as secure as you can.”
While they were going, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back.
