A stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet ring of his lords, so that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel.


and laid it in his new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock. He then rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb and went away.


Pilate said to them, “You have a guard of soldiers; go, make it as secure as you can.”


While they were going, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened.


And suddenly there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.


When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back.


Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.


But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.”


Joshua said, “Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to guard them,


and threw him into the pit and locked and sealed it over him, so that he would deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be let out for a little while.
