Happy is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.


And after getting into a boat he crossed the sea and came to his own town.


“David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?” And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.


When Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered around him, and he was by the sea.


for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he protected him. When he heard him, he was greatly perplexed, and yet he liked to listen to him.


but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were spellbound by what they heard.


So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him.


Once while Jesus was standing beside the Lake of Gennesaret and the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God,


“Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the city how much Jesus had done for him.


He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.


Therefore I sent for you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. So now all of us are here in the presence of God to listen to all that the Lord has commanded you to say.”
