the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of his face was shining, and Moses would put the veil on his face again until he went in to speak with him.


They come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but they will not obey them. For flattery is on their lips, but their heart is set on their gain.


Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.


“Truly I tell you, among those born of women no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist, yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.


But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ we are afraid of the crowd, for all regard John as a prophet.”


And the whole Judean region and all the people of Jerusalem were going out to him and were baptized by him in the River Jordan, confessing their sins.


for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he protected him. When he heard him, he was greatly perplexed, and yet he liked to listen to him.


“I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater than John, yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”


Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him.


So we have the prophetic message more fully confirmed. You will do well to be attentive to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
