Then the whole town came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him they begged him to leave their region.
“Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”
But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’s knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”
When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him, shouting, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me,”
Those who had seen it told them how the one who had been possessed by demons had been healed.
The man from whom the demons had gone out begged that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,
Wherever they do not welcome you, as you are leaving that town shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”
so they came and apologized to them. And they took them out and asked them to leave the city.
But now why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer, we shall die.
Then the people of Beth-shemesh said, “Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? To whom shall he go so that we may be rid of him?”
