It happened at that time that Judah went down from his brothers and settled near a certain Adullamite whose name was Hirah.

And in the hill country, Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,


Now the Philistines gathered their armies for battle; they were gathered at Socoh, which belongs to Judah, and encamped between Socoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim.


David left there and escaped to the cave of Adullam; when his brothers and all his father’s house heard of it, they went down there to him.
