You have made our nation grow! Lord Yahweh, you have made our nation grow; you have revealed your glory, and you have extended all the borders of the land.

This is what Yahweh, the Commander of Angel Armies, said in my ears: “Truly, many of your houses will become devastated and your large, impressive mansions will have no one living in them!

“I have abandoned my house of Israel and deserted the people I call my own. I have surrendered the beloved of my soul over to her enemies.

I will make them a horrible sight that will shock the entire world because of the wicked things King Manasseh son of Hezekiah of Judah did in Jerusalem.”

When they hear the approach of the horsemen and archers, the whole city flees in terror. Some run into the forest to hide, and others climb up into the rocks. Every city is deserted, and no one lives there anymore.

At Riblah, in the territory of Hamath, the king of Babylon had them executed. And so, the people of Judah were taken into exile.

Have you forgotten us forever? Why have you abandoned us for so long?

For if their temporary rejection released the reconciling power of grace into the world, what will happen when Israel is reinstated and reconciled to God? It will unleash resurrection power throughout the whole earth!
