I know, my God, that you put hearts to the test and that you take pleasure in integrity. With a whole heart I have willingly given all these things, and now with joy I have seen your people here present also giving to you generously.

May the devious heart keep far from me; the wicked I will not acknowledge.

The face of the wicked hardens, but the upright maintains a straight course.

To the Lord the devious are an abomination, but the upright are close to him.

They have perversity in their hearts, always plotting evil, sowing discord.

[The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil;] Pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth I hate.

Whoever corrects the arrogant earns insults; and whoever reproves the wicked incurs opprobrium.
