and oneof the elderssaidto me, "Stopweeping;behold,the Lionthat is from the tribeof Judah,the Rootof David,has overcomeso as to openthe bookand its sevenseals."
Twelvelionswere standingthereon the sixstepson the onesideand on the other;nothinglike[it] was madefor anyother kingdom.
[There were] sixstepsto the throneand a footstoolin goldattachedto the throne,and armson eachsideof the seat,and twolionsstandingbesidethe arms.
"[His] strongscalesare [his] pride,Shutup [as with] a tightseal.
Then a shootwill springfrom the stemof Jesse,And a branchfrom his rootswill bearfruit.
Then in that dayThe nationswill resortto the rootof Jesse,Whowill standas a signalfor the peoples;And His restingplacewill be glorious.
Thussaysthe LORD,"Restrainyour voicefrom weepingAnd your eyesfrom tears;For your workwill be rewarded,"declaresthe LORD,"And they will returnfrom the landof the enemy.
"I approachedoneof those who were standingby and began askinghim the exactmeaningof allthis.So he toldme and madeknownto me the interpretationof these things:
"He couches,he liesdownas a lion,And as a lion,whodares rousehim? Blessedis everyone who blessesyou, And cursedis everyone who cursesyou."
But Jesusturningto them said,"Daughtersof Jerusalem,stopweepingfor Me, but weepfor yourselvesand for your children.
When the Lordsawher, He felt compassionfor her, and saidto her, "Do not weep."
Nowthey were allweepingand lamentingfor her; but He said,"Stopweeping,for she has not died,but is asleep."
And they saidto her, "Woman,whyare you weeping?"She saidto them, "Becausethey have taken awaymy Lord,and I do not knowwherethey have laidHim."
concerningHis Son,who was bornof a descendantof Davidaccordingto the flesh,
AgainIsaiahsays,"THERE SHALL COMETHE ROOTOF JESSE,AND HE WHO ARISESTO RULEOVER THE GENTILES,IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILESHOPE."
For it is evidentthat our Lordwas descendedfrom Judah,a tribewith referenceto whichMosesspokenothingconcerningpriests.
The Revelationof JesusChrist,whichGodgaveHim to showto His bond-servants,the things whichmustsoontake place;and He sentand communicated[it] by His angelto His bond-servantJohn,
"I, Jesus,have sentMy angelto testifyto you these thingsfor the churches.I amthe rootand the descendantof David,the brightmorningstar."
He who overcomes,I will grantto him to sitdownwith Me on My throne,as I alsoovercameand sat downwith My Fatheron His throne.
the twenty-fourelderswill fall downbeforeHim who sitson the throne,and will worshipHim who livesforeverand ever,and will casttheir crownsbeforethe throne,saying,
Aroundthe throne[were] twenty-fourthrones;and upon the thrones[I saw] twenty-fourelderssitting,clothedin whitegarments,and goldencrownson their heads.
ThenI [began] to weepgreatlybecauseno onewas foundworthyto openthe bookorto lookinto it;
ThenI sawwhenthe Lambbrokeoneof the sevenseals,and I heardoneof the fourliving creaturessayingas with a voiceof thunder,"Come."
Thenoneof the eldersanswered,sayingto me, "Thesewho are clothedin the whiterobes,whoare they, and wherehave they comefrom?"
