He also choseDavidHis servantAnd tookhim from the sheepfolds;

So Davidsaidto Michal,"[It was] beforethe LORD,whochoseme aboveyour fatherand aboveallhis house,to appointme ruleroverthe peopleof the LORD,overIsrael;therefore I will celebratebeforethe LORD.
"Nowtherefore, thusyou shall sayto My servantDavid,'Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,"I tookyou from the pasture,from followingthe sheep,to be ruleroverMy peopleIsrael.
Sincethe daythat I broughtMy peopleIsraelfrom Egypt,I did not choosea cityout of allthe tribesof Israel[in which] to builda housethat My namemight be there,but I choseDavidto be overMy peopleIsrael.'
