"Whyare we regardedas beasts,As stupidin your eyes?
Do not be as the horseor as the mulewhich havenounderstanding,Whose trappingsinclude bitand bridleto holdthem in check,[Otherwise] they will not comenearto you.
For he sees[that even] wisemendie; The stupidand the senselessalikeperishAnd leavetheir wealthto others.
O God,it is You who knowsmy folly,And my wrongsare not hiddenfrom You.
A senselessmanhasnoknowledge,Nordoes a stupidmanunderstandthis:
That when the wickedsproutedup likegrassAnd allwho didiniquityflourished,It [was only] that they might be destroyedforevermore.
SurelyI am morestupidthananyman,And I do not have the understandingof a man.
I saidto myselfconcerningthe sonsof men,"Godhas surely testedthem in order for them to seethat they are but beasts."
"An oxknowsits owner,And a donkeyits master'smanger,[But] Israeldoes not know,My peopledo not understand."
