How blessedis he whosehelpis the Godof Jacob,Whose hopeis in the LORDhis God,
The LORDfavorsthose who fearHim, Those who waitfor His lovingkindness.
The sorrowsof those who have barteredfor another[god] will be multiplied;I shall not pourout their drinkofferingsof blood,Norwill I taketheir namesupon my lips.
Dohomageto the Son,that He not becomeangry,and you perish[in] the way,For His wrathmay soonbe kindled.How blessedare allwho takerefugein Him!
O tasteand seethat the LORDis good;How blessedis the manwho takesrefugein Him!
How blessedis the manwhohas madethe LORDhis trust,And has not turnedto the proud,nor to those who lapseinto falsehood.
For it is You who blessesthe righteousman,O LORD,You surroundhim with favoras with a shield.
O LORDof hosts,How blessedis the manwho trustsin You!
Adversitypursuessinners,But the righteouswill be rewardedwith prosperity.
He who givesattentionto the wordwill findgood,And blessedis he who trustsin the LORD.
Althougha sinnerdoesevila hundred[times] and may lengthenhis [life], stillI knowthat it will be wellfor those who fearGod,whofearHim openly.
Woeto the wicked![It will go] badly[with him], For whathe deserveswill be doneto him.
"Thereis nopeace,"saysmy God,"for the wicked."
For the love of moneyis a rootof allsorts of evil,and someby longingfor it have wandered awayfrom the faithand piercedthemselveswith manygriefs.
