Howcan we singthe LORD'SsongIn a foreignland?
A timeto weepand a timeto laugh;A timeto mournand a timeto dance.
Therefore in that daythe LordGODof hostscalled[you] to weeping,to wailing,To shavingthe headand to wearingsackcloth.
"Then you will sayin your heart,'Whohas begottenthesefor me, Since I have beenbereavedof my childrenAnd am barren,an exileand a wanderer? And whohas rearedthese?Behold,I was leftalone; From wheredid thesecome?'"
They will not pourout drinkofferingsof wineto the LORD,Their sacrificeswill not pleaseHim. [Their bread will] [be] like mourners'bread;Allwho eatof it will be defiled,For their breadwill be for themselves[alone]; It will not enterthe houseof the LORD.
"The songsof the palacewill turnto wailingin that day,"declaresthe LordGOD."Many[will be] the corpses;in everyplacethey will castthem forth in silence."
