To Him who smotethe Egyptiansin their firstborn,For His lovingkindnessis everlasting,
And smoteallthe firstbornin Egypt,The first[issue] of their virilityin the tentsof Ham.
Now it cameabout at midnightthat the LORDstruckallthe firstbornin the landof Egypt,from the firstbornof Pharaohwho saton his throneto the firstbornof the captivewhowas in the dungeon,and allthe firstbornof cattle.
He smotethe firstbornof Egypt,Bothof manand beast.
He also struckdownallthe firstbornin their land,The firstfruitsof alltheir vigor.
For I will gothroughthe landof Egypton that night,and will strikedownallthe firstbornin the landof Egypt,bothmanand beast;and against allthe godsof EgyptI will executejudgments--I am the LORD.
By faithhe keptthe Passoverand the sprinklingof the blood,sothat he who destroyedthe firstbornwould not touchthem.
"'AND WHATEVERNATIONTO WHICHTHEY WILL BE IN BONDAGEI MYSELFWILL JUDGE,'saidGod,AND AFTERTHAT THEY WILL COMEOUT AND SERVEME IN THISPLACE.'
