So I contendedwith them and cursedthem and strucksomeof them and pulledout their hair,and made them swearby God,"You shall not giveyour daughtersto their sons,nortakeof their daughtersfor your sonsor for yourselves.
Even one of the sonsof Joiada,the sonof Eliashibthe highpriest,was a son-in-lawof Sanballatthe Horonite,so I drovehim awayfrom me.
He kissesthe lipsWho givesa rightanswer.
He who rebukesa manwill afterwardfind[more] favorThanhe who flatterswith the tongue.
You shall not hateyour fellowcountrymanin your heart;you may surelyreproveyour neighbor,but shall not incursinbecauseof him.
For Johnhad been sayingto him, "It is not lawfulfor you to haveher."
Thosewho continue in sin,rebukein the presenceof all,sothat the restalsowill be fearful[of sinning].
preachthe word;be readyin season[and] out of season;reprove,rebuke,exhort,with greatpatienceand instruction.
Thistestimonyis true.For thisreasonreprovethem severelysothat they may be soundin the faith,
These thingsspeakand exhortand reprovewith allauthority.Let no onedisregardyou.
