"Do not let the tribeof the familiesof the Kohathitesbe cutofffrom amongthe Levites.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,"Godown,warnthe people,sothat they do not breakthroughto the LORDto gaze,and manyof them perish.
Whoevershall mix[any] likeit or whoeverputsanyof it on a laymanshall be cutofffrom his people.'"
"Whoevershall make[any] likeit, to useas perfume,shall be cutofffrom his people."
They will also bringout allyour wivesand your sonsto the Chaldeans,and you yourselfwill not escapefrom their hand,but will be seizedby the handof the kingof Babylon,and thiscitywill be burnedwith fire.'"
and the earthopenedits mouthand swallowedthem up, and their households,and allthe menwhobelonged to Korahwith [their] possessions.
But the LORDsaidto Moses,"Putbackthe rodof Aaronbeforethe testimonyto be keptas a signagainst the rebels,that you may putan endto their grumblingsagainstMe, so that they will not die."
"So you shall attendto the obligationsof the sanctuaryand the obligationsof the altar,so that there will nolongerbe wrathon the sonsof Israel.
Of Kohath[was] the familyof the Amramitesand the familyof the Izharitesand the familyof the Hebronitesand the familyof the Uzzielites;thesewere the familiesof the Kohathites.
Then the LORDspoketo Mosesand to Aaron,saying,

He struckdownsome of the menof Beth-shemeshbecausethey had lookedinto the arkof the LORD.He struckdownof all the people,50070men,and the peoplemournedbecausethe LORDhad struckthe peoplewith a greatslaughter.
