Then the Gibeonitessaidto him, "We haveno[concern] of silveror goldwith Saulor his house,noris it for us to putanymanto deathin Israel."And he said,"I will dofor you whateveryou say."
Deliverme from bloodguiltiness,O God,the Godof my salvation;[Then] my tonguewill joyfullysingof Your righteousness.
"If,however, a manactspresumptuouslytowardhis neighbor,so as to killhim craftily,you are to takehim [even] from My altar,that he may die.
"Thus I will judgeyou like women who commitadulteryor shedbloodare judged;and I will bringon you the bloodof wrathand jealousy.
Ifa mantakesthe lifeof anyhumanbeing,he shall surelybe putto death.
Ifhe struckhim downwith a stonein the hand,by whichhe will die,and [as a result] he died,he is a murderer;the murderershall surelybe putto death.
If anyonekillsa person,the murderershall be putto deathat the evidenceof witnesses,but nopersonshall be putto deathon the testimonyof onewitness.
You shall not takeransomfor him who has fledto his cityof refuge,that he may returnto livein the landbeforethe deathof the priest.
Cursedis he who strikeshis neighborin secret.'And allthe peopleshall say,'Amen.'
