"Commandthe sonsof Israelthat they giveto the Levitesfrom the inheritanceof their possessioncitiesto livein; and you shall giveto the Levitespasturelandsaroundthe cities.
Davidsaidto allthe assemblyof Israel,"Ifit seems goodto you, and if it is from the LORDour God,let us sendeverywhereto our kinsmenwho remainin allthe landof Israel,also to the priestsand Leviteswho are with them in their citieswith pasturelands,that they may meetwith us;
For the Leviteslefttheir pasturelandsand their propertyand cameto Judahand Jerusalem,for Jeroboamand his sonshad excludedthem from servingas prieststo the LORD.
Also for the sonsof Aaronthe priests[who were] in the pasturelandsof their cities,or in eachand everycity,[there were] menwhowere designatedby nameto distributeportionsto everymaleamong the priestsand to everyonegenealogicallyenrolledamong the Levites.
I also discoveredthat the portionsof the Leviteshad not been given[them], so that the Levitesand the singerswho performedthe servicehad goneaway,eachto his own field.
"Exclusiveof the propertyof the Levitesand the propertyof the city,[which] are in the middleof that whichbelongsto the prince,[everything] betweenthe borderof Judahand the borderof Benjaminshall be for the prince.
"And besidethe borderof Judah,from the eastsideto the westside,shall be the allotmentwhichyou shall setapart,25000[cubits] in width,and in lengthlike oneof the portions,from the eastsideto the westside;and the sanctuaryshall be in the middleof it.
Now the LORDspoketo Mosesin the plainsof Moabby the Jordan[opposite] Jericho,saying,
"The citiesshall be theirsto livein; and their pasturelandsshall be for their cattleand for their herdsand for alltheir beasts.
"Now ifa Levitecomesfrom anyof your townsthroughoutIsraelwherehe resides,and comeswheneverhe desiresto the placewhichthe LORDchooses,
